Easy Amaretto Sour Recipe with Sour Mix

This amaretto sour recipe with sour mix is the easiest amaretto sour cocktail that you will ever make. It is made with just two simple ingredients so you can spend more time enjoying your delicious cocktail than making it.

Sweet Amaretto Sour Cocktail Ingredients 

To make this amaretto sour recipe with sour mix you will need two main ingredients plus garnish:

• 2 1/2 oz Amaretto Liqueur
• 1 1/2 oz sweet & sour mix
• maraschino cherry garnish

Amaretto Liqueur 

The main secret ingredient in an amaretto sour is the amaretto liqueur. Disaronno is an Italian liqueur known for its smooth almond flavor. Though this almond-flavored liqueur doesn’t actually contain any almonds it is the perfect base for many cocktail recipes.  A 750ml bottle of amaretto will typically cost around $30. 

How to Make the Perfect Amaretto Sour with Sour Mix

First, fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes and then measure out 2.5 ounces of amaretto using a cocktail jigger. 

Add the amaretto to the shaker. 

While some prefer to use a homemade sour mix from fresh lemon juice and sugar syrup, sometimes you just want it easy. You can achieve the same sour element in your sour drink by using a premade sour mix like this one here: sour mix. Add the sweet and sour mix to the cocktail shaker.

Secure the top on the cocktail shaker and give it a good shake. 

Use a bar strainer and pour the classic sour cocktail into an ice-filled rocks glass. 

Garnish with your favorite cocktail cherry and enjoy.
