How to Make Ginger Lemon Honey Tea Recipe
Health Benefits of Ginger: We prefer to use organic ginger. Ginger has been used for generations for its natural medicinal properties. It has been known to possibly treat respiratory problems, aid in digestion, and improve the immune system.
First, prepare the ginger. Use a vegetable peeler to peel the skin of the ginger and then slice the ginger into slices. Sliced ginger will allow more surface area of the ginger to steep in the hot water. Once peeled and sliced, you should have about 1/8 cup of ginger slices.
Place the sliced ginger into a small saucepan or pot.
Next, add the water to the pot, and bring it to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat and bring the boiling water down to a simmer. Simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
Then remove the ginger water from the heat.
Homemade Honey Lemon Ginger Tea
Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the ginger from the ginger water.
Pour a strong cup of ginger tea into your favorite mug.
Next, add a Tbsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice to each cup of plain ginger tea.
Then add a Tbsp of honey to each cup of tea. Make sure to use raw, unfiltered honey. Local honey is also popular and common among home remedies for seasonal allergies.
The natural sweetness of honey is a nice balance to the tartness of the lemon and the zing of the ginger.
