As expected this simple cocktail is made with different types of whiskey. But not just any type, the three greats!
- 3 Ounces Jim Beam Bourbon Whiskey
- 3 Ounces Johnnie Walker Red Label Scotch Whisky
- 3 Ounces Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey
- Optional garnish: Orange Slices, Orange Peels, Lemon Slices, or Maraschino Cherries
How to Make Three Wise Men Whiskey Shots
The perfect way to make your three wise men cocktail is to combine equal parts Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky with equal parts Jim Beam white label bourbon whiskey and equal parts Jack Daniels. For the sake of this delicious recipe, we are using 3 ounces of each.
Gently shake to combine. Do not shake vigorously, be gentle.
Pour into shot glasses and top with a lemon wedge, orange peel/wedge, or maraschino cherry if desired.
Enjoy at room temperature.
Tips
- Garnishes aren’t necessary, but the taste of the cherry or added citrus on or in the glass is a nice touch. It adds another aspect to the flavor profile and breaks up the strength of the very strong shot of whiskey.
- As mentioned, these shots are very strong, so beware. These are not for amateur drinkers.
- If you are not a fan of drinking your three wise men shot at room temperature you can shake it with ice. This comes down to preference and is up to you whether it’s chilled or not.
